The purpose of this blog is to bring together individuals from different generations, communities and neighborhoods to discuss New York through the lens of social justice. This project grew out of a mutual desire to know more about our neighbors and what is being done in our city to make it a better place. To that end, we will interview different New Yorkers with different interests in the hope that we might begin to illuminate the things that make this city great. We hypothesize that strong communities, good neighbors, working families, immigration, independent businesses, and commitments to human rights having something to do with the alchemy of New York City.
